For health professionals

Referring a family to Hermes

We accept referrals from health visitors, midwives, GPs, social workers, and other professionals working with families in Moray. Families can also self-refer — there is no formal process required.

To refer a family, simply get in touch by email with a brief note about the family's needs and your contact details. We will reach out to the family directly and let you know once contact has been made.

We work alongside NHS Grampian, Moray Council's family and early years services, and local third sector partners. Joined-up referrals are always welcome.

What to include in a referral

  • Family name and, with consent, a brief description of their circumstances or needs
  • Ages of children in the household
  • Location (town or area within Moray)
  • Your contact details as the referring professional
  • Whether the family knows they are being referred or would prefer an informal first approach

We are here — come and find us

You do not need an appointment, a referral, or a reason. If you have a young child and you live in or near Forres, you are welcome to join us any Tuesday morning.
